Thank You to the Paralympics

As some of you may know, I LOVE the Paralympics! (This point can been reiterated by my Twitter* feed!)

Paralympic Rings

Just over 5 weeks ago the Olympic Games in Rio came to an end and while many people were sad that it was over, for myself and many others, there was a lot more to come! I have always gotten excited in the weeks prior to the Paralympics. In the UK there was great build up to the games with advertisements and programs based on the amazing talent surrounding the sports. After that, 10 full days of action packed sport with the best athletes in the world. I've watched every bit of television coverage going, even into the early hours! Being able to watch these world class athletes take control of their bodies and minds (from either an accident or what mother nature has given them) and performing at such an outstanding level to a point where disability isn't the main focus is everything that makes the Paralympics truly incredible! There's also a lot of sport to watch because of the different classifications in all the sports. (That also means there are more medals to be won!) Plus there are sports in the Paralympics that aren't in the Olympics such as Wheelchair tennis/rugby/basketball, boccia and goalball which are extremely enthralling to watch. All of this is what makes the Paralympics outstanding!

I come from a world where I have been around disabilities my whole life. Both mental and physical. When watching the Paralympics I can see so many people I grew up with within the demeanor, attitudes and disabilities of the athletes. I hope these people I know watch the Paralympics and are inspired to achieve what ever they want in life, whether that is sport or different ventures. One of the great things about the Paralympics is how it inspires. London 2012's motto was "Inspire a Generation." and this can be seen in these Rio games with both first time competitors and returning athletes.
Another aspect of the Paralympics I love is how disability is talked about. It's not brushed under the carpet and people aren't wrapped in cotton wool, but the ability of each person is celebrated. Not just athletes but those working for the games. People laugh, discuss, joke, debate, question, advise and freely talk about disability just like it should be! Everyone comes together in such a large Paralympics family where they can talk to each other about issues and cheer everyone on, whether they're going for gold, a commentator or guiding people to their seat.

Tonight is the closing ceremony of these marvelous games and tomorrow will commence the post Paralympic blues. Having to go back to watching normal television consisting of Cornish tin mines, short royalty, singing civilians and baking. So, after being glued to the television for the past 10 days, cheering on some of the most phenomenal athletes in the world I feel I should say thank you.

Thank you to every single Paralympian in the games. All of you! Without you there would be no games. Your passion and devotion to your sport and country shines through when you compete. You have given people around the world fantastic sport to watch of the highest caliber and inspired so many people to be like you and they may even take up the sport. You've shown that no matter where in the world you are from or what disability you have, you can achieve whatever you want to achieve. With these games coming to a close, I hope they stay with you, whatever your future endeavors are. If you're retiring, continuing to Tokyo 2020, or moving onto something different entirely, I hope you remember them fondly and with pride.

Thank you.

As a Brit I must say thank you and congratulations all everyone who competed in ParalympicsGB. Whether you won a medal or not you have made everyone back in the UK so proud. I hope you will be able to see the scale of your achievements when you return home. Whether that be people coming up to you in the street or new people coming to take part in your sport saying they were inspired by you. I trust there will be a Paralympics parade when you get back home just to show you how much we appreciate you all. I hope I bump into some of you and get to say thank you in person. I'm sure envelopes from the Palace will be landing on your doormats very soon!

Thank you.

    Here's in the UK Channel 4** was the channel that broadcast the games. Thank you for your coverage (even if that did mean staying up until 1 in the morning!) All of the presenters have been so informative and were fun and exciting but could also been serious and informative when giving us information. In addition to this I would like to say Thank You to 'The Last Leg'. I've been watching the show since the start. Adam, Alex and Josh give not just disability but life in general such a unique twist which involves laughter and genuineness. You're able to tell it how it is and also not be afraid to be different and take on board what the public say. (Twitter mainly!) After watching the show (not just in the Paralympics season) I feel so inspired. The show is one of the best legacies from the 2012 games. How do I get a job there? But seriously;

Thank you.

Thank you everyone! Now to enjoy the closing ceremony. Lets hope Rio 2016 goes out in style!

Cat in a Sweet Shop

When it comes to cats, I can normally feel their presence before I see them. One of the creepier thing I've probably ever written, but it is true. People commend me on how I attract random cats in the street and how I get along with normally hostile cats. It's a skill I'm very proud of.

This week I share a story with you where my cat senses weren't working as they should ...

§

Did you mean: kid in a sweet shop
No google, I did not!

§

On a trip to London with my wonderful uni friends we walked through an unusually quiet Covent Garden and we passed a wonderful sweet shop. It had massive Liquorice Allsorts, Love Hearts and various other sweets in the window and it was all purple and lovely. It drew me inside. Oh and before you ask, it wasn't CyberCandy. This shop is much better (oh no she didn't! Cat fight! ... no fights involving cats happened in this story). It's called 'Hardys Original Sweetshop' and it's just round the the corner from that other sweetshop.

© Hardys Original Sweetshop

Whilst in the shop we perused through their wares such and 'Candy Crush' and 'Angry Birds' sweets and vintage tins of fudge. The old and the new. They have traditional jars of sweets that you weigh out. The walls were floor to ceiling with so many types of confectionery and chocolates. There is something for everyone in there. Magical for children and adults. We were talking about how reasonably priced everything was and how wonderful the shop looked when all of a sudden,

Noise: "Meow"

...

My Brain: "Did I just hear a Cat?"

To be honest my brain is rather frazzled recently and I often mishear things so I just disregarded it. Then I heard my friend say "Cat!" As I turn around I see a beautiful Bengal cat which had what I can only describe as giant Puss in Boots eyes. This beautiful cat gave me a look with a mixture of anticipation of everything around her and pure confusion as to why she was outside.

cats.lovetoknow.com

This cat was not only in a harness with a lead but had a contraption that I've heard about on cat lady websites. I dabble on cat lady websites because, well, I am one. It was a pet carrier but in the form of a stroller. But this cat wasn't sitting in it, how it is designed, but sitting on top. She's a maverick. I like this cat. For her to have all this gear, she must go out-out quite often.

They left as quickly as they arrived. The cat and owner walked out of the shop and I naturally followed. The owner placed the cat on the floor and she slowly turned around to us and flashed her massive green/yellow eyes. As the lady pushed the empty stroller up the road the cat looked into every shop window and off they went.

One thing you may ask about this whole story is "Hey Lucinda, you mean to tell me you're a photographer and you didn't take one photo of this miraculous event. At the time I was so taken aback. By the time I'd realised what was happening the cat had gone. I shouted "NO COME BACK, I WANT TO CUDDLE YOU!" My friends held me back and said "You can't just cuddle strangers cats". "UNHAND ME" I shouted and as they dragged me through the streets of London I yelled "KITTY! KITTY! KITTY!

...

None of that happened. We went to Pizza Hut. Im a failure I know. Tell you what, the next time I see a cat in a sweet shop I'll definitely take a photo. Deal? Deal!

§

When I told my parents this story my Mum made a valid point of saying, "There's no rule against cats in shops. Only dogs!" Very true. I've never seen a 'no cat' sign in any retail outlets. One of the many reasons cats are better than dogs. They can shop wherever they wish!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! New Years Resolutions

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Did you also get that text from a mystery number on New Years. Who is that person?! Then you would feel bad asking who they are. What an awful start to their year that would be. So they just remain anonymous. Nothing like a puzzle to start the year off is there.

§

I must start the new year with an apology about my absents towards the end of last year. I lost two very special family members, which was and still is completely heart breaking. But I'm very lucky to be surrounded by wonderful people who are helping during this difficult time.

As I look back over last year ... It was bloody horrible. And no Facebook I don't want to look at my year in review, please stop reminding me. A lot of the bad things that happened weren't in my control. I think I need something to distract myself so let's be a sheep and set myself some New Years Resolutions. There are parts of my life I need to improve in so I'm going to do it. New year ... new distractions, as it were. So I've set myself six New Years Resolutions. Let's see how I do ay?

§

1. Take More Photos
If there's one thing I've learnt this year, it's how important photographs are. Not just from an art perspective, but from a personal, family point of view. I started organising our family photos into albums and it's wonderful to look back through them. Whether they're 100yrs or 10yrs old it's wonderful to see the family through the years. Also looking at photos of family that are no longer here I find really lovely. So I must carry on taking photos for the future. Not only taking them but organising them, digitally and in print form. I will not be printing them self. Never again. 'Printer fury free since 2013'.
I must update my Instagram more often too. Bad Lucinda!

2. Go Outside More
When your job involves working from home, like myself, sometimes you forget when the last time you went outside was. Or what birds sound like. Or if the seasons have changed ... Where did Autumn go? WHO SAID THAT?! ... I jest, but I really should get some fresh air more often.

3. Learn to Cook
Now this is something I should have got to grips with a long time ago. After a burnt my self in a food technology class about 10 years ago* I've always been extremely cautious of all hot appliances and scared I'd burn myself again. I still don't like the oven but I've but I'm actually starting to cook food for myself! Well I've learnt that sweet potatoes are versatile and taste good. So if you looked at my Pinterest and wondered why I'm so obsessed with sweet potatoes ... It's the first thing I've learnt how to cook. So this resolution is in full swing. Progress! Anyone want sweet potatoes?

4. Write More
Here I am, I'm doing it! I've really enjoyed this blog since I started and have had some wonderful feedback. I felt my writing really improved since going to university and I didn't want to stop since graduating, so I started this blog. I plan to do a lot more blogging and writting this year. Huzzah!

5. Exercise
Hmmmm. This one. The one I've struggled with for years. My trouble is I get too enthusiastic, end up over doing it and injuring myself. Then once I've recovered I forget to start over again. So I'm going to exercise, but start slowly. My slow start has gotten underway with me looking at the ASOS sale for Niké trainers. See ... slowly. I had a go at jogging last year. By jogging I mean using the wii sport and jogging on the spot in the lounge. I was still jogging!? Just didn't see much of the world. See I can now combine exercise and going outside. 2015, the year of doing things!!

6. Play Instruments More
I really enjoy music and I should really play more often. I play the guitar, started on the ukulele and dabble at the piano. Oh I sing a bit too, I guess that counts. But I really should play more as it's great fun and a good release. All together now, Fa La La LA la la laahhhh!

§

So there's the six I have set myself. That should keep me occupied. I know that resolutions rarely work out but I hope at least one or two of these will. Maybe this time next year I'll report back and see how this went. So I hope you had a great New Years Eve/Day and I hope 2015 treats you well.

Happy New Year!

A Letter to Autumn

As you read this British Summer Time is over for another year and we are back to regular old Greenwich Mean Time. A day where we all collectively ask "do the clocks go forward or back" and we all rave about our extra hour of sleep.

So Autumn is officially here. The nights are slowly starting to draw in, the leaves changing colour and you can wear big jumpers and snuggle up in front of the TV. Time to stock up on warmer clothes and put the summer dresses away.

Since the beginning of October I've been watching the lovely Carrie Hope Fletcher write 'Letters to Autumn' on her Youtube Channel. Also I watched the wonderful Emily Diana Ruth (emilieofnewgloom) write 'Letters to July' this year and last year. Since today has marked the end of Daylight Savings Time, I thought I would write a Letter to Autumn myself.

__________

Dear Autumn,

You are well and truly in full motion. You bring warmish days and chilly nights. You bring sunshine but you also bring a lot of wind ... and rain. That's one thing that strikes me about you Autumn. You seem very undecided about your weather choices until your colder counterpart, Winter comes and makes up your mind for you. Even though you are as indecisive as a child in a toy shop, you seem to do it with a lot more style.

You may have style, Autumn, but one thing that strikes me about you most is how photogenic you are. When searching through social media, I can't move for photographs of rolling mist over lakes, the most beautiful of posing animals and leaves covering everything. You pull off Orange very well Autumn and you suit red and yellow wonderfully. You also fill Instagram tags full of photographs of boots buried in leaves, intricately decorated hot beverages and oh so many arty pumpkins.

One thing that does make me smile about you Autumn is how us puny humans have forced such strange traditions onto you. We see orange fruit growing out of the ground. Not only do we put it into our food and drink, we carve them into scary shapes and faces to scare spirits away. Explain that Autumn. Nothing says fighting off evil spirits like hollow food. We also see red fruit growing from the trees and decide to either cover them or toffee or put them in a bucket of water and retrieve them with our mouths. These would be completely unacceptable any other time of year, but you make them okay, Autumn.

These traditions tend to be paired with our Autumnal based Holidays. Halloween and Bonfire Night are firmly in your grasp Autumn. Two holidays where a lot of their activities are based outside such as Trick or Treating, Bonfires and Fireworks displays. They occur in the rainiest of your days, Autumn. We don't let that dampen our spirits though. No rain will stop us enjoying you, Autumn. Well with in reason. I am British after all. I can handle my rain, but no more hurricanes please.

'My very 1st DIY: Decorative Owl Pumpkin' - A Modern Dame*

Autumn, even though you bring a variety of colour and celebration to your days, you sometimes have a rather melancholic feel to yourself. As the changing leaves loose their last grasp of life and fall to the ground, the whole world around you feels like it's starting to change. Life can feel like this in general but when nature starts do its adjustments, everything can feel it's becoming different and almost foreign.

But we all have to remember, Autumn, that even though it may look like our surroundings have departed from us, they are just sleeping and everything will start to grow fresh again when your good friend Springs comes around. You're very clever aren't you, Autumn! Some parts of nature can shed itself back to basics to reserve energy and then come back stronger in the Spring. A technique us humans could use!

Leaf Lonely Wallpaper - Foxytocin

You truly are a portrayer of many emotions. But it's not always sad. You make us feel at ease with your presence. You are the comforter between Summer and Winter that guides us steadily in between the two. Without you Autumn we'd forget that every year the seasons have to change and even though we enjoyed the warmth of Summer, we need to travel forwards in time to Winter. You're a teacher. You must get annoyed with us as students because you have to remind us every year!

I associate you with learning, Autumn. Back in my days of education, a new year of learning would start in Autumn. I've spent many a time sitting in classrooms and looking outside at changing sceneries and watching leaves fall. Even up into my university days. Even though I'm not in education anymore I know you're still out there in other students lives. When I drive past a school these days I think, "Haha, you're in school! Been there, done that!" Also shopping malls and public places aren't full of children as they were in Summer because they have been guided back to the place of learning. Thank you for that Autumn!

It's time I sign off Autumn. This may be farewell for the time being but the next time I venture outside I will greet you with open arms. Hope we have some wonderful times together until we end up parting ways and Winter takes over. But that's a little while off yet so lets have some fun first! I'll plan our schedule and you do what you do best and just be you.
Until next time, Autumn!

Words are a Powerful Thing!

"Hey, hey Lucinda! How's the blog going!"

Yes, yes, it's been a while hasn't it. Apologies about that. One of those situations where life gets in the way and takes over. Things are still very busy at this end but I thought I'd take some time to sit and write something.

I started this blog because a) I wanted to start one for ages and thought why not and b) During university my writing improved immensely and I didn't want that to stop after I left so having an outlet on the internet was one of the best ways to do this.

One thing I have learnt about writing over the past couple of years is that 'words are a powerful thing'. The ability to leave an impact upon people by just using words has always impressed me. Sometimes while I'm writing, this can feel rather daunting. So much so it can sometimes be difficult to put pen to paper*. So I have been looking into how some writers get into that writing zone and get their creative juices** flowing.

Emma Thompson
Back in September 2014, Emma Thompson delivered a screenwriters' lecture for BAFTA and BFI. She opened her lecture barefoot, wearing dungarees and sweatshirt. The stage had chair, desk, yoga mat and a box full of draft scripts. Emma walked around the stage, done some yoga, writing, lounging around and hoovering. She explains that this is how she writes (with additional foetal positions and crying). It's good to know that even an acclaimed writter such as the delightful Emma Thompson still has distractions. (A yoga mat is a lot better than going to get four chocolate HobNobs. *ahem*)

There was one part of Emma's lecture which struck a chord with me. She said;

"... just write, it doesn’t matter what you write. It does not matter, just sit at that desk and write."

She explains if you just write SOMETHING, that is then something to work with and you can edit, tweak and shuffle around. This is ... to be honest ... very smart. I wouldn't start editing a photograph if I didn't have an image in the first place!

So that is what I'm doing. Sitting at my desk and writting. Although I'm typing with my left hand whilst one of my cats sits awkwardly on my lap and arm. But at this point I have a flow of idea an am able to write some sort of coherent sentences. On a non creative day I could probably string together cat, water, lamp, potato, potato, potato. But admittedly I could probably string that together into some sort of readable passage ... maybe ...

Giovanna Fletcher
Lovely, lovely Mrs Giovanna Fletcher. Actress, McWag, Mummy, Vlogger AND Author. Gi has written three books now and she recently started a YouTube channel. One of her most recent video she talks about her writing tips. (You can watch that video here!) This video came at a good time for me!

Gi talks about what helps her through a writing day. She's says read what you've written the day before, set yourself a target for what you want to achieve for the day and be adaptable. If you're in the mood to write, then write! You don't have to be at your desk. If your travelling or in bed then that's fine too. But overall Gi says do what's best for you, which is probably the best advice to anyone.

Gi also talks about some things that didn't even cross my mind. For example wear comfy clothes. Very true. Sitting down to do something creative in skinny jeans sounds bloody awful! She also said;

"Never sit down when you're hungry, thirsty of need the toilet"

Have everything you need in front of you before you get into a creative flow so you don't have to get back up again and loose your trail of thought. Made me think back to school exams and having everything on your desk. Mind you the reminder of exams may not be best for everyone, so going back to what Gi said before ...

"Do what's best for you"

Gi has lots of advice in her video so if you wants to hear more words of wisdom watch her video here

Have a look at her other videos too because she's so blooming lovely!

These days my writing hangs out here, on this blog! This time two years ago I was just starting my dissertation. Also five years ago I was writing A Level drama essays and my UCAS Personal Statement. Whilst writing all of these things I still had that phrase "words are a powerful thing"rattling around in my mind because my words had to make an impression on who was reading them. One thing I would say is that over the years, even though the types of writing I do have changed, my nature of writing hasn't. Also the techniques have grown and developed. Practice makes perfect ... possibly.

Whether you write books, scripts, songs, articles, essays, or little old blog posts like myself, writing is still writing. A method that someone has for writing a book could work for someone else who is writing a song. Be open to everything as that's when you could strike gold!

I may not be a writing expert but I do have some advice which has helped me over the years;
  • Don't wait until later if you have an idea. Do something with it immediately otherwise it will disappear like a rabbit down a hole and it will be bloody difficult or impossible to coax it back out again. If you can't do anything with it straight away, write it down and come back to it later. Don't leave it to long though. It will be difficult to decipher what banana pancake hat means out of context.
  • Have a trustworthy, handy, delightful person be your proof reader***. They will spot mistakes that you wont see. This is certain! You read your work through the eyes that created them. You may read your work how it was intended. Not how it was finally produced.
  • Be open to guidance and suggestions from anyone. Family, Friends, Teachers, Lecturers, an article in the paper, something written on the side of a bus stop, that annoying person on Facebook, that quirky little blog post you just read *ahem*. Inspiration can come from anywhere so be receptive and the idea you have been waiting for may appear.

Words Are a Powerful Thing. Remember that every time you write something. But don't let it hold you back. Let it drive you forward! You are leaving an impression on somebody, somewhere in the whole world. They are reading, listening, watching, feeling those words and they came from you! Your mind! Your wonderful, creative, enlightening mind!

Oh and one last piece of advice before I go ... SAVE YOUR WORK!

Lucinda x

* Or fingers to keyboard, but that doesn't sound as good.
** Don't think I've ever written the words juices in that context before. Juices. JUICES. Okay I'll stop.
*** My proof reader liked that part!

Wimbledon 2014

Wimbledon is over for another year. I have really enjoyed the tennis this year and I'm already feeling the Monday Wimbledon blues. There were some really great things about Wimbledon 2014 and it's a year I felt I was truly enticed by the game. For fun, here are some of the things I enjoyed about Wimbledon 2014

Dimitrov the Contortionist

I have never seen a player move, or slide, like Grigor Dimitrov. I know that this year was particularly dry, which is why the ground was so dusty and a lot of players fell. But Dimitrov most certainly fell with style. Also the way he can move his body to get a shot. Almost hard to believe, but brilliant to watch. Here are some of my favourite shots of Dimitrov defying the laws of physics.

Grigor Dimitrov - Bob Martin/AELTC

Grigor Dimitrov - Tom Lovelock/AELTC

Grigor Dimitrov - Florian Eisele/AELTC

Grigor Dimitrov slides into a shot - Billie Weiss/AELTC

Joking aside, I think the Dimitrov/Djokovic semi-final match was amazing tennis and for both players to end up on the floor like this shows how much power and determination goes into these games. Incredible!

Grigor Dimitrov and Novak Djokovic - Scott Heavey/AELTC

Celebrities Wear Sunglasses!

Wimbledon is a place you can easily spot the celebrities. It's nice to be able to see well known faces relaxing and enjoying themselves. As Wimbledon is in June/July the sun is shining (... most of the time) so the crowd are often sporting hats and sunglasses. Here are my favourite photos of celebs in glasses.

Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee-Furness in the Royal Box - Scott Heavey/AELTC
Believe it or not, that's Hugh Jackman! The reason behind this brave look is that he is currently playing Blackbeard for the film 'Pan'. He has opted for dark black sunglasses. To match the beard maybe. No hat? Hmmmm. Brave.

Samuel L. Jackson and Sofia Davis in the Royal Box - Jon Buckle/AELTC
Samuel L. Jackson can rock any glasses. That's because he's Samuel L. Jackson!

Chris Hemsworth with Elsa Pataky in the Royal Box on Centre Court - Jon Buckle/AELTC
Loving Elsa Pataky's sunglasses with extra framing. Meanwhile her husband has opted for sunglasses with one arm! C'mon Ray Ban, hook Chris up with some new sunnies.

Sir Chris Hoy and Lady Sarra in the Royal Box at Wimbledon - Jon Buckle/AELTC
As Chris Hoy looks on, his wife Sarra can't take her eyes off his sunglasses. The gentleman behind is even questioning his decision.

Jude Law sits in the Royal Box on Centre Court - Jon Buckle/AELTC
Ooo Jude, give us a side view why don't you!

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge sit in the Royal Box during the Gentlemen's Singles Final - Scott Heavey/AELTC
Kate is look great in her sunnies. Will ... oh Will! Maybe Samuel L. Jackson can help you out!

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, App.

I've been working with Social Media for a few years and I must say, I am really impressed with how Wimbledon has been documented and how they have been sharing through their Social Media.

I starting following them on Instagram after last years final and I thought to myself 'mmm they probably wont have much to talk about the rest of the year' but boy I was wrong. Obviously it's not as action packed but they still keep you up to date with what goes on the rest of the year when we're not watching.

When games have reached a set, their Twitter will tell you immediately! Facebook is quick at showing groups of amazing photos of the matches and Instagram will spark up discussion and show you the unusual parts.

The App has also been great, especially when there are two games at once and you want to know the score. You can set you favourite players and you were updated on when they were playing and what the score was at each set. I was told to go and get some Vitamin D in the garden and with iPad in hand I could quickly see how the scores where changing, what the speed of the ball was and how long the game had been going on. The App opens to an amazing picture of all the courts and gives great detail of the Wimbledon grounds.

Here are the links and you should go follow/download!

Wimbledon 2014 has been amazing. Lets hope 2015 is just as fantastic and we can do this all over again. Thank you for a great fortnight of sport!

30 June 2014

#RandomSongInMyHead JUNE!

This is a new monthly ... thing ... I'm going to start. This is #RandomSongInMyHead! I would say I have a large music 'library' in my head and I am certainly one of those people whose brain remembers song lyrics better than anything else. So for the month of June I have kept a note of the songs that were stuck in my head. Here they are!

Stevie Wonder - Part Time Lover
I was watching a SourceFed Nerd 'Table Talk' and someones user names was Part Time Wizzard. So this song popped in my head.

ELO - All Over The World
I don't know how this song get in my head. I know this song from the end of 'Paul'.

DuckTales
On the Fine Brother's channel the kids reacted to DuckTales! DuckTales ooOOooo

Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
I had heard this song many times before, but I'd never seen the film in which it is associated. The film Mannequin stars Kim Cattrall and i really enjoyed it!

The Contours - Do You Love Me
I also watched Dirty Dancing, which I haven't seen for ages. A film with great music that makes you wonna DANCE!

Bruce Channel - Hey Baby
Another Dirty Dancing song. From the pit where they're dancing on the log.

Bucks Fizz - Making Your Mind Up
There was an 80's Top of the Pops on tele and out of all the songs that got stuck in my head ... it was this one.

Shalamar - I Can Make You Feel Good
Something to dance to!

Michael Jackson - Love Never Felt So Good
I really like this song. Reminds me of the early Michael Jackson records. Does anyone know when this song was written?

Phats & Small - Turn Around 'Hey, What's Wrong With You'
This is one of those songs where a sentence triggers it off. Someone says "Hey, what's wrong with you" and you reply "YOU'RE LOOKING KINDA DOWN TO ME!"

Taylor Dayne - Tell It to My Heart
Look at that hair! This is a good song to dance and work out too.

Craig David - Walking Away
Nice chill out music. Craig David's 'Born to Do It' album reminds me of my childhood. Great Album.

Billy Joel - Just the Way You Are
I really love Billy Joel's music, but this was triggered by a music question on Pointless

The Cardigans - Lovefool
I didn't even know what this song was called. I just randomly started singing it!

Ariana Grande - The Way ft. Mac Miller
I don't know much about Ariana Grande. I heard of her from The Fine Bros and I know she's friends with Colleen Ballinger (Miranda Sings). Anywho, this song is really catchy! Difficult to sing along too, quite high!

Extreme - More Than Words
For those of you who don't know, I play guitar. This is a great song to play on guitar and sing too.

Ed Sheeran - One
This is my favourite song from Ed's new album 'X' (Multiply). I also like to jam to this song on guitar. I love stripped back music that i can sing along to and this one is beautiful.

Blu Cantrell - Breathe
Yeah, I can't explain this one. I have a big ol' archive of songs in my head. That's the love of #RandomSongInMyHead

The Coral - In the Morning

McFly - Sunny Side of the Street
I adore McFly and have been a fan since the beggining. If I'm listening to something on my iPod when out and about, it will be McFly. For some reason this song got in my head. Bit of a summery song, maybe I was feeling the summery vibes.

That is my #RandomSongInMyHead for June. Let me know if you enjoyed and i'll do it again next month!

I'M DOING IT!

That's right, I'm doing it! I'm writing my own personal blog.

I run a few blogs online, but they all seem to stick to one particular theme. But those who know me will know that I have many random interests and I wanted to have a place where I could chat about them.

I'm known for being obsessed with Comedy, a Musical and Theatre lover, Concert goer, Cat hugger, Internet Addict, Guitar Player & recent Photography Graduate*. Want to know more?

So this is me. A new venture into the blogging world.

Thank you for stopping by. (Tips Hat **) Stay & make yourself at home.
